Anyway, I always wished that I needed orthodontic braces. I know, a very strange thing for a kid to wish for. Generally there are only 2 types of cosmetic braces in the world – halloween costume braces, and retainers made by dentists. The former look like crap, and the later you really have to be comfortable with your dentist to request (and that’s no guarantee he will know how or be willing to make them). Real retainers are also uber expensive, and don’t expect your insurance to pitch in for them! Anyway, I found these veneers I’ve been wearing at Dental Distortions. They make orthodontics that are used in Hollywood – including fangs, missing teeth, and you guessed it, braces! So if you’re into braces or any other type of orthodontic modification, and you want a non-permanent but realistic effect, I highly recommend them

Back to the shoes, these adorable pumps came from an online retailer’s clearance section (and are now sold out), but the label is Flair. I hear HotTopic carries similar shoes from time to time, and that they can occasionally be found on Ebay, but I never had any luck either place. I’m just very glad to have finally found these, as they quickly became one of my favorite crossdressing shoes! Hopefully if you’re in the market for cute maryjanes, I’ve provided you a couple new places to look at least.

These shoes are great with all types of outfits. I’ve used them for a schoolgirl look, a little-girl look (they are about as close as I can get to a t-strap mary jane, which nobody seems to sell anymore ), the girls at SockDreams use them for that unique Seattle neo-hippie-punk look, and of course they are perfect for the vintage look that I’m sporting in the above photo

To finish off the outfit, I’m wearing a green plaid jumper. I was amazed to find this at a regular store (Forever 21 I think), because it really looks like a grade-school jumper. The plaid pattern is authentic. The cut is loose, straight, and pleated. The only “problem” is that it’s far too short Ok, I’m really not complaining about that, I think it’s pretty hot.
